What To Eat Atkins Diet Induction Menu For Atkins Diet
January health news: Carb control gains support

Fans of the Atkins weight-loss regimen can breathe a little easier -- contrary to what some believed, a low-carbohydrate, high-fat diet does not increase the risk of heart disease, a recent study suggests.

In 1973, a year after the book Dr. Atkins' Diet Revolution was published, the American Medical Association called the diet's emphasis on meat, eggs and cheese "potentially dangerous" and many in the medical community agreed.

The study, conducted by researchers at Harvard University's Schools of Medicine and Public Health and published in the November 9, 2006, issue of the New England Journal of Medicine, claims otherwise. It found that low-carb, high-protein and high-fat diets do not increase the risk of heart disease in women and that when such diets primarily include vegetable sources of protein and fat, the risk of heart disease decreases by 30 per cent.

What's So Unhealthy About The Atkins Diet?

Just when you think you've heard it all from the people who oppose livin' la vida low-carb, along comes a story like the one I share out of Great Britain in Episode 18 which should remind you that these people will stop at nothing to discredit this healthy lifestyle change so many of us have chosen. You'll never believe what they say is HEALTHIER than the Atkins diet!

You Mean I Can Have Beer On My Diet?

Wouldn't it be great if you could drink unlimited amounts of beer and other alcoholic beverages (if that tickles your fancy) and STILL lose weight? Well, wake up from your dream buddy because it ain't gonna happen. But triple-digit weight loss success Bradley Scott Cailor will tell you how he incorporated beer into his unique "diet" in his enticing new weight loss book entitled The Beer Drinker's "Diet". Let me warn you ahead of time. This book is unlike any other weight loss books on the market today, but that's a VERY good thing as you will quickly find out.As someone who has lost nearly 200 pounds following what worked for me (the Atkins/low-carb nutritional approach), I thoroughly enjoyed reading the brutal honesty that Cailor brings to this book. While I certainly didn't agree with everything he had to say regarding his philosophy on diet and nutrition, you certainly can't beat the results--114 pounds GONE FOREVER! CONGRATULATIONS, Bradley!Check out his incredible before and after photos:Like me and millions of other people desperate to find something that would help him shed the weight, Cailor stopped relying on all the failed fad "diets" and simply decided to create one of his own that would fit his lifestyle while still melting the fat.

It's Time For Your Diet To Die

I want to focus on the subject of "diet" for just a moment. I don't think it's any coincidence that the first three letters of that word are D-I-E! LOL! If you've ever been on one, then you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.

But people who have read about my low-carb weight loss success know that I absolutely ABHOR the use of that word. Not that I don't appreciate that it was the Atkins DIET that I used to lose my weight. It worked VERY well for me and I am now 190 pounds lighter because of it. I don't regret going on that diet one bit.

Yet it is not because of the diet itself, but rather the commitment to making this way of eating my permanent choice for life. This is such a foreign concept to so many people who desire weight loss and improved health. All they see is the immediate problem and a diet seems to help them get from Point A to Point B the fastest so they can get back to the normal lives again.
